PURPOSE: To rapidly attain the processing for a run-away by initializing a time counter when a value equal to the value of a counter to count the number of the times of initialization is given. CONSTITUTION: The timer has a time counter 1 to count an inputted clock, an initializing counter 2 to count the number of the times of initialization each time the time counter 1 is initialized and a means to initialize the time counter 1 when the initilization counter output and comparing data corresponding to the number of the times of the initialization inputted accompanying the execution of the program are compared and made coincident. Here, by giving special data, the time counter is initialized and the special data are dynamically changed by initializing. Thus, it can be detected that a program normally flows.
